  15. CHERRY BLOSSOM VIEWING PARTY (HANAMI)
Date and time: Monday, March 31, 2025, 12:00-14:00 (this event will be cancelled in the event of rain). Location: Along the bank of Tama River (approximately a 10-minute walk from Unoki Station). Participants should meet at 11:30 in front of Unoki Station on the Tokyu-Tamagawa Line. Cherry blossoms bloom in early April in Tokyo. If you take part in this event, you will enjoy a relaxing time under the cherry blossoms while enjoying drinks, snacks, and conversation with your karate friends.

  16. JOINT TRAINING WITH OTA CITY RESIDENTS
Although this seminar is being organised by SKIF, Ota City, Ota City Board of Education, and Ota City Karate Federation once again provide support in, among other things, securing the seminar venue. That is why we also organised a free training session on the second day of the seminar together with karate practitioners residing in Ota City. We encourage all members taking part in the seminar to also participate in this joint training session. Following this joint training session, during the referee clinic class, seminar attendees will be given the opportunity to practice refereeing under tournament conditions. To make this possible, we ask the younger members to participate as athletes. This will allow them to experience kumite under tournament conditions and improve their skills while enabling others to improve their skills as referees.

Other matters of importance

  1. LODGING

SKIF GHQ will not arrange lodging for this seminar. Participants are requested to make all necessary lodging arrangements on their own.

Late March/early April is a busy time of year for hotels in the Tokyo area (particularly around Kamata). Several hotels are already completely booked for this period. Accordingly, we strongly recommend that you reserve lodging as early as possible.

The seminar venue is within walking distance (approximately 6 minutes) from Heiwajima station on the Keihin Kyuko Main Line (Keikyu Honsen). Accordingly, participants may want to consider lodging near Shinagawa* station, Kamata station (both of which offer easy access to the seminar venue), or somewhere in between these two locations.

    * Shinagawa is the largest district in the southwestern region of Tokyo and offers a large selection of city and business hotels.

    Distances between various train stations
    • Heiwajima Station - Shinagawa Station: approx. 10 minutes by train
    • Heiwajima Station - Keikyu Kamata Station: approx. 5 minutes by train

Note: Although JR Shinagawa Station and Keikyu Shinagawa Station are located directly next to each other, Kamata Station and Keikyu Kamata Station are separated by a distance, requiring a 10-minute walk. SKIF Headquarters is situated at Kugahara Station (about a 1-minute walk from the station) on the Tokyu Ikegami Line, which is approximately 7 minutes by train from Kamata Station.
